Williams Formula One Team has today announced the signing of young racing driver and Leathes Prior client, Luke Browning, to its Driver Academy.
The 21-year-old from the UK has shown tremendous talent on the track, winning the 2020 F4 British Championship, the 2022 GB3 Championship and, notably, the prestigious 2022 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC award. Previous winners of that award include current F1 drivers Lando Norris and George Russell and former F1 drivers such as Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Anthony Davidson and Paul di Resta.
Luke will now combine his duties racing in 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Hitech GP with his new role as a member of the Williams Racing Driver Academy, as he makes a significant step towards the holy grail in motorsport which is competing in F1.
“It has been a pleasure to legally advise and assist Luke in this deal with Williams F1, which is a well-deserved step for him following on from his phenomenal success with Hitech GP in the 2022 season and the subsequent Aston Martin Autosport BRDC award process. Luke’s future appears to be very bright indeed.”

The Value of Planning Ahead: LPAs & Court of Protection
Putting LPAs in place allows you to choose trusted people to make decisions for you if you lose capacity in the future. This avoids the need for loved ones to make a costly and time-consuming deputyship application to the Court of Protection. With more people likely to experience conditions affecting capacity, more families may need to turn to the Court for support where no LPAs are in place.
