At Leathes Prior, we pride ourselves not only on the high-quality legal advice we provide, but also on the extra services we can offer to our clients. Many of our teams offer a range of in-house training options.

Training is increasingly crucial in any business. Not only does it upskill your staff, managers, and business owners, it also provides a unique opportunity for open discussions, ideas sharing, and team building.

We offer bespoke in-house training sessions on a wide range of topics; the sessions range from high-level masterclasses which grow your in-house expertise and practical sessions on the application of legal principles in your business, to more general legal and industry updates and Q&A sessions.

Every training session is individually tailored to your particular business needs to ensure it fits your requirements absolutely. Our trainers deliver clear, interactive, and practical sessions, either in person or remotely, to individuals at all levels of business - whether that be business owners, Directors, in-house counsel, managers, or the wider workforce. The sessions can be as long or as short as you wish, depending on your requirements.

Please see below for information on each team and their training offerings, which is a summary of what clients tend to ask us to deliver. Additionally, our teams are able to deliver training on any other topics you may wish; if you are interested in training on a topic not listed below, please do get in touch to discuss your requirements and how we can help.

What our clients say

The training delivered by Sarah was brilliant, her preparation work left no stone unturned, working closely with our Senior Managers prior to the event to ensure the three sessions were tailored specifically to the needs of our business. The training was delivered with simplicity and professionalism and was managed perfectly for the group’s needs, it was interactive, insightful, at times brutal, but always professional; the feedback from the room was incredibly positive. We would highly recommend engaging her services to support your training needs.

Toilets + - Communication, Behaviours and Disciplinary Issues

I would like to acknowledge what a great course you gave us all last week; I have had some great feedback, thank you.

Equality and Diversity

This was a recorded webinar which was put on our website as a toolkit for all VCSEs to use, so will be helpful long term and not just on the day of the webinar. The feedback was excellent with 5 stars (5 out 5). "I felt more confident and empowered to create a more inclusive and respectful workplace culture after attending the webinar." "The webinar was excellent. The content was informative and engaging, and the facilitator was extremely knowledgeable." Thanks to Harriet once again for all her support.

Norfolk Community Foundation - Avoiding Discrimination in the Workplace

The training was detailed and comprehensive, delivered in Sarah’s usual enthusiastic and easy to understand style. The team and I thoroughly enjoyed both the training and having our thought processes challenged by Sarah to consider other outcomes, risk to the business and impact on the individual.

Integrated Service Solutions - Managing Conduct and Performance

Thank you very much for the slides and the presentation. It was very well delivered, and the team appreciated the practical advice.

Effective Performance Management

After a couple of conversations and clarity about the needs for the business, Sarah was clear about what she could deliver. Her training covered in total 7 sessions which would capture the entire workforce. Firstly, I would like to thank Sarah for delivering a course which accommodated all levels of the business and for simplifying a difficult topic, making it relatable and clearly understandable for all. Sarah was able to bring the training to life by using real case studies, really hitting home the message you need to be aware of your audience. Sarah delivered exactly what I wanted her to in our business. It was the dipping the toe into changing behaviours and hearing it from a lawyer. Sarah was professional and knowledgeable, but also had a sense of humour, making the training more enjoyable and relaxed.

Robinson Young - Equality and Diversity

The Equality and Diversity Training we received from LP was truly insightful and enjoyable. The course highlighted how rapidly the world of employment is changing, as well as people's perceptions, and it demonstrated how easy it is to get into a challenging situation. Not only did the training broaden our understanding of significant issues that could arise in the workplace and what employment law protects, but it also equipped us with the necessary tools to navigate them. We believe that this training will help us move forward in wider projects and our day-to-day work. Sarah Appleton, who conducted the training, was highly professional and extremely knowledgeable. She created a welcoming environment for us to discuss and learn. We highly recommend LP's Equality and Diversity Training to anyone looking to enhance their knowledge and improve their workplace.

DMD Group - Equality and Diversity

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and deliver the workshop today, I really enjoyed it. It’s always great to have a refresher.

HR update

Thank you Sarah for the fabulous training sessions. We have had really positive feedback from it, which is great.

Effective Performance Management

Thank you so much for today!! The feedback on the sessions today has been exceptionally positive! Both in terms of the content covered, but also the delivery/trainer. If all your training is that much fun, lets book in some more! I knew it was going to be an interesting day.

IceFresh Foods – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Sexual Harassment

Every time Sarah delivers an Employment Law Update Course at LIND, the feedback from the teams has been fantastic. She is able to adapt to the room and put into practice what could be quite a daunting subject area. The teams come away with a much greater understanding of employment law in the workplace. Sarah delivers the course in a relaxed and ‘fun’ way, which is quite an achievement for such a serious area. We look forward to the next course.

LIND - Employment Law for Managers

We engaged Sarah from Leathes Prior to provide company-wide sexual harassment training, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the start, Sarah took the time to understand our business and tailor the training to our specific needs. Her ability to adapt her approach to suit different audiences made the sessions highly relevant and engaging. Sarah’s relaxed, humorous, and informative style created a comfortable learning environment, making the training both enjoyable and impactful. Her use of real-life scenarios and case studies was particularly eye-opening, reinforcing the importance of preventing sexual harassment in the workplace. I cannot recommend Sarah and Leathes Prior highly enough—their professionalism and expertise were outstanding.

Stockport County Football Club – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Sexual Harassment

Sarah was very knowledgeable and engaging, and provoked some thoughtful discussion around challenging areas. We really enjoyed the collaborative style of the training, and the hands on exercises were great and allowed us to apply what we learned in real time. The practical examples linked to our business and related to our policies made the session relatable. We discussed some serious subjects, but Sarah kept it fun and relatable at all times. We are looking forward to another session!
