Ejike is a Partner in the Wills, Trusts, and Probate Team at Leathes Prior bringing over a decade of experience in private client law, with specialist expertise in charity law. His practice is focused on delivering tailored, practical advice to individuals, families, as well as charitable and not for profit organisations in a personable manner. Ejike is passionate about making a positive impact for clients and places great emphasis on relationship building with clients, including individuals and organisations in the not for profit sector, as well as professional advisers, with whom he is privileged and fortunate to work.

Ejike also has significant expertise in charity law and is an active member of the Charity Law Association, which plays a leading role in shaping developments in the field.

Ejike has, in the past, served as a Trustee with the boards of the charities, Red Balloon Learner Centre for Bullied Children and Norfolk Community Law Service, and was involved with the Steering Committee of Norfolk Black History Month.

Outside of work, Ejike enjoys staying active through sports, exploring new places, socialising with friends and family, and film & photography. He also moderates a Podcast ‘The VARdict’ which occupies his spare time.

  • Acted for a large social housing provider in creating a charity. Retained by the charity to advise on all aspects of its creation, including drafting policies, developing governance frameworks, and conducting policy and compliance reviews.
  • Acted in the complex incorporation of a charity operating as a Medical Center with significant assets held within trading entities. Created the incorporated charity, and advised on governance and compliance matters, including the charity’s trading entities whilst liaising with the Department of Health in relation to the incorporation process.
  • Retained by the management committee of a benevolent society to provide ongoing advice on governance matters. Acted in relation to constitutional updates, governance reviews, involved in the development of policies and procedures, as well as strategic reviews.
  • Involved in the administration of Trusts valued at several million pounds. These have involved providing legal advice and guidance to the Trustees on taxation as it affects Trusts, liaising with other professional advisers such as Accountants and Investment Managers and dealing with all compliance-related matters concerning Trust administration.
  • Successfully dealt with the resettlement of assets held within a Discretionary Trust, and holding significant assets, into a Life Interest Trust for tax planning purposes which was approved by HMRC.

With more than 10 years of experience, Ejike advises clients on a wide range of private client matters, including:

  • The preparation of Wills and associated inheritance tax planning;
  • Estate administration, representing the Executors/Administrators of a variety of Estates, including particularly valuable Estates, insolvent Estates, Estates with assets held abroad, and Estates where there is no Will;
  • The Preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney for Property & Finance and Health and Welfare;
  • The creation and management of Trusts, advising Trustees on Trust administration and tax-related matters, the registration of Trusts, and all aspects of regulatory and compliance matters involving Trusts; and
  • Court of Protection work, including Property and Finance Deputyship applications, Health and Welfare Deputyship applications, and any other applications to the Court surrounding these roles.

Ejike’s charity law work includes:

  • Establishing new charities and advising on registration with the Charity Commission;
  • Dealing with charity mergers;
  • Converting unincorporated charities and Trusts into Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs);
  • Advising Trustees on the most suitable operational structures;
  • Drafting charity constitution documents; and
  • Advising on property transactions and transfers involving charitable assets.
  • Graduated with an LLB (Hons) in Law – 2007
  • Gained a Master’s in International and European Law - 2008
  • Undertook the LPC at the College of Law, Manchester – 2011
  • Qualified as a Solicitor - 2013
  • Served as the CEO of the Norfolk Benevolent Medical Society until April 2025
  • Joined Leathes Prior as a Partner - April 2025
  • Currently serves as a Trustee of The Solicitors’ Charity
