Dan Chapman, head of LP’s Sports Team, was delighted to act for British racing driver Freddie Slater as he signed for Invicta Racing for a 2027 rookie season in Formula 2.
The Audi F1 backed driver has just finished second in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season, very narrowly missing out on the championship following an extremely unfortunate end to the season at the final round in Madrid where problems with his car denied him a likely title. In any event, a stand-out debut season in Formula 3 was more than enough to see Invicta swoop to secure Freddie’s signature for the step above, as Freddie now moves ever closer to that dream opportunity in Formula 1.
Commenting on the deal, Dan said “This contract with Invicta took some time to negotiate and conclude as there were many spinning plates throughout. Motorsport is a genuine team sport, and that is also reflected in the driver contracts. Freddie’s management company, ADD, worked very hard, as did Allan McNish of Audi, and the Invicta management were a real pleasure to work with too. Most of all, assisting Freddie and his family is always a privilege, and I can’t wait to see Freddie make this step-up next season.”
Invicta Racing are based in Attleborough, Norfolk, so whilst Leathes Prior are already fully behind Freddie’s career, the #LPLovesLocal in us will particularly enjoy watching him race for a Norfolk based team.
