Lucy’s expertise enables her to provide sensible, pragmatic and commercial solutions to her clients. Her time in practice has taught Lucy that no two transactions are the same. Lucy firmly believes in the power of picking up the phone and in keeping things as simple as possible.
Her tailored approach and experience enables Lucy to identify and anticipate core issues early so she can find proportionate solutions to progress transactions swiftly whilst maintaining relationships between the parties.
Lucy’s clients are based across the UK and in a variety of sectors including education, charities, retail, sport, energy and natural resources, professional services, food and beverage and hospitality and leisure.
Lucy’s work includes supporting clients with:
- Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals;
- Landlord and tenant facing leasehold portfolio management including regears, agreements for lease, licences to alter, underleases and surrenders;
- Residential and commercial development;
- Investment property acquisitions and disposals;
- Property financing and refinancing;
- Energy leases (including PPA arrangements); and
- Long and short term strategic acquisition and portfolio planning.
Lucy is proud to be a member of the mental health first aider team at Leathes Prior. She is also a huge fan of a colour coded table, as many of her clients will confirm.
Lucy’s recent experience includes acting:
- On the sale of residential development site
- On a promotion agreement, for the promoter
- On the purchase of development land for health facility
- On the purchase of the high value redevelopment of commercial premises by a tenant
- For an owner-occupier on a time pressured refinance, needed for improvement works
- On the complex exit from existing facility to new (larger) premises for leisure industry client
- As an advisor to inhouse lawyers on property queries and strategy
- For a retail tenant taking leases of a strategic new sites
- For energy sector client on solar PPA projects
Lucy has also recently worked alongside our corporate team on the following transactions:
- Sale of leisure industry business for in excess of £6.4 million; and
- Sale of family business for in excess of £1.8 million
- Studied law at the University of East Anglia and graduated in 2008
- Completed Legal Practice Course at the College of Law (London) – 2009
- Trainee Solicitor at Mills & Reeve LLP – 2009 – 2011
- Qualified a Solicitor in 2011
- Joined Leathes Prior as a Partner in June 2019
