Alex Saunders, Partner in the Leathes Prior’s Corporate Team assists Almalumi Group on the acquisition of Yarrowside Limited, which operates the Bluebird Care franchise for South Wiltshire. Alex was supported by Trainee Solicitor in the Corporate Team, Dylan Owen.
Almalumi Group operates one of the largest group of Bluebird Care franchises in the UK. This latest acquisition was their fourth, marking another significant milestone in their journey that began over a decade ago in Pimlico. As a group, they now have 500 customers and provide care over nine Bluebird Care areas.
With the new acquisition, their focus is to support and empower the local team, lead with strong values, deliver safe and compassionate care, and build a service everyone can be proud of.
Following completion, client, Peter Slough said:
“We have used Alex Saunders at LP for our last three acquisitions. His excellent commercial acumen and common sense approach means we can concentrate on planning the operational side of merging the new business into our existing structure. Honestly, we can’t give high enough praise to Alex, we fully trust him and his advice and we couldn’t ask for a better legal partner to work with. We’ve partnered with LP in all areas of our business and always had very good support but Alex is simply excellent. To us, Alex is the best in the business.”
Alex Saunders, Partner at Leathes Prior said:
“It was a privilege to act for Almalumi Group Ltd, through Directors Peter and Tom, on their third acquisition. This acquisition further strengthens Almalumi’s position within the market as one of Bluebird Care’s leading franchisees, enhances their ability to provide a high-quality service to the community and is an important milestone for the business. Congratulations Peter and Tim!”
We extend our very best wishes to Peter, Tim and the team at Almalumi Group as they continue their growth journey.

The Value of Planning Ahead: LPAs & Court of Protection
Putting LPAs in place allows you to choose trusted people to make decisions for you if you lose capacity in the future. This avoids the need for loved ones to make a costly and time-consuming deputyship application to the Court of Protection. With more people likely to experience conditions affecting capacity, more families may need to turn to the Court for support where no LPAs are in place.
