Lucy Matthews

Lucy enjoys problem solving commercial challenges and thrives when assisting her clients with their day-to-day commercial queries. She supports businesses of all sizes from start-up clients (ensuring that they have everything in place from a legal perspective at the beginning of their business journey), through to long term established businesses with more complex commercial needs.

Through building strong relationships and clear communication, Lucy strives to really understand her clients and their goals to ensure she helps them achieve successful outcomes and reach their commercial objectives.

Matters Lucy can assist with include:

• General commercial work including contract review & negotiation, the drafting of terms & conditions and any other supply of goods / services agreements;
• Data protection advice and assistance, including the preparation of website documentation and other data protection-related policies and procedures;
• Intellectual Property protection & licence agreements, including trademark registrations and copyright assignment; and
• Brand-influencer agreements including brand ambassador agreements, along with social media and influencer marketing agreements.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys health and fitness and spending time with her family.

• Assisting with the licencing of many software products and services;
• Assisting with the negotiation of a new software product within an established business;
• Assistance with a brand influencer agreement on behalf of a well-known sportswear provider.

• Worked at a local firm within Commerical Law since February 2022
• Qualified as a Commercial Solicitor in January 2023
• Joined Leathes Prior’s Commercial Team in January 2025
