Leathes Prior is delighted to announce that James Iron, Charlie Watkins and Lily Stagg have successfully completed their training contracts and will qualify as Solicitors with the firm.

The trio joined Leathes Prior as Trainee Solicitors in September 2024 and, following two years gaining experience across a number of the firm’s practice areas, will now continue their careers at LP as qualified Solicitors.

James Iron will qualify into our Wills, Trusts & Probate Team, where he will advise and assist clients across a broad range of private client matters. James graduated from the University of East Anglia with an LLB Law Degree in 2023 before completing the LPC at BPP University in Cambridge. During his training contract, James gained experience across Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Wills, Trusts & Probate and Commercial Property, before returning to Wills, Trusts & Probate for his final seat.

Charlie Watkins will also qualify into our Wills, Trusts & Probate Team. Charlie’s journey with LP began before his training contract, having joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in 2022 before being promoted to Paralegal in 2023. He subsequently completed the LPC at the University of Law and commenced his training contract in September 2024. During his training, Charlie gained experience across Family, Commercial Property and Wills, Trusts & Probate. He will now continue developing his career within the team as a qualified Solicitor.

Lily Stagg will qualify into our Regulatory & Criminal Defence Team, having spent time with the team during her training contract before returning for her final seat. Lily’s association with LP stretches back even further, having first joined the firm in 2019 on a part-time basis supporting our Residential Property Team while studying for her law degree at the University of East Anglia. She completed the LPC at the University of Law in Norwich in 2024 before beginning her training contract, during which she gained experience in Commercial Property, Regulatory & Criminal Defence and Family.

Training Principal, Sarah Appleton, said:

Qualifying as a Solicitor is an incredibly important milestone and I am very proud of James, Charlie and Lily for everything they have achieved over the last two years. All three have worked extremely hard throughout their training contracts, embraced the opportunities presented to them and made an amazing contribution to the firm and our clients.

“Developing and retaining talented lawyers is hugely important to us, and their progression is another great example of the strength of our training programme and the opportunities available to build a long-term career at LP. James, Charlie and Lily thoroughly deserve their success, and I am excited to see each of them take this next step in their careers.”

Please join us in congratulating James, Charlie and Lily on their qualification and wishing them every success as they begin the next stage of their careers with Leathes Prior.
