Leathes Prior's Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Team Secure Settlement for Client
Kate Smith (Senior Associate) and Kimberley Nelson (Paralegal) were instructed in relation to a workplace personal injury claim, and successfully secured a five-figure settled for the client.

Kate Smith (Senior Associate) and Kimberley Nelson (Paralegal) from our Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Team were instructed in relation to a workplace personal injury claim. The accident caused a crush injury to the client’s ankle and foot accelerating the onset of pre-existing asymptomatic arthritis.
As part of the claim, we arranged diagnostic tests including nerve conduction studies and an MRI scan, and secured funding for private physiotherapy to aid his recovery.
We recently secured a five-figure settlement for the client, including:
· Compensation for his injury, pain, suffering, and loss of amenity (known as General Damages); and
· Recovery of the financial losses incurred as a result of the accident, including the cost of diagnostic testing, private therapy, future medication, and loss of earnings (known as Special Damages).
We were very pleased to receive wonderful feedback from the client this week:
I honestly don’t even know where to start. After nearly 2 and a half years working with Kate and Kimberley, I can truly say they have been absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Their communication has always been clear, consistent, and reassuring. No matter how many questions I had or how many times I didn’t fully understand something, they were always patient and took the time to explain everything properly. The level of professionalism they showed throughout my case was outstanding, but what really made the difference for me was how much they genuinely cared. They didn’t just treat me like another case - they treated me like a person. This has been a long journey but having them by my side gave me confidence every step of the way. I’m so grateful for everything they have done for me and my family. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs support - you won’t find better. Thank you again for everything.
