Julia specialises in both agricultural and commercial property and has acted for clients on a wide range of matters including acquisitions, disposals, leasing and financing.
Agricultural matters Julia can assist with include:
- Acting on the acquisition and disposal of farmland and estates
- Refinancing of farmland
- Complex first registrations of farmland
- Acting for landowners on rights of way and easements
- Acting for both landowners & developers on promotional agreements, contracts of sale and option agreements
Commercial matters Julia can assist with include:
- Acting on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property including commercial land, warehousing & retail spaces
- Leases of commercial property
- Property refinancing
- Acting on the acquisition & financing of development land
Julia also has specialist experience acting for parish and town councils on open space transfers from developers.
Julia studied law at the University of York and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, Birmingham. Having qualified as a solicitor in October 2015, Julia joined the Commercial & Agricultural Property Teams at Leathes Prior in March 2021 bringing with her experience working at international, national, and regional firms. Julia was promoted to Senior Associate in May 2024.
Outside of work Julia recently purchased her first home in the area and spends much of her time getting to know Norwich and the surrounding countryside with her friends and family.
Agricultural Experience:
- Acted on a complex purchase of a £5.5 million farm estate in Suffolk for an investor client.
- Advising trustees on the sale of a large unregistered tenanted farm on the Essex/Suffolk border.
- Sale of an unregistered £2.5 million farm estate involving complex trust issues.
- Acting on the sale of a farm in excess of £5 million involving multiple lot sales including property and large areas of farmland.
- Acting on the sale of a £2.7 million country house estate.
Commercial Experience:
- Acted on a £500,000 per year lease of warehousing space for an international company.
- Acting for various charities on the sale of land to the combined value of £3.5 million for 100% affordable housing developments.
- Refinancing a development site with gross development value of £5.5 million.
