Leathes Prior Sponsors Break GoGo Safari Sculpture

Leathes Prior is proud to be sponsoring a sculpture in the Break GoGoSafari art trail this summer! Taking place in collaboration with Wild in Art and Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA), the 2025 trail will showcase the Break ‘Big 5’ - elephants, rhinos, lions, giraffes, and gorillas - each symbolising one of Break’s vital services.
Having previously sponsored Professor Hare in 2018 and GoGo Mosaic Dragon in 2015, this year, we’re thrilled to be collaborating with talented local artist Rebecca Amphlett (also known as Dandelion Mosaics) to bring another beautiful mosaic sculpture to life. We’re excited to finally unveil our elephant, Unity, which will be part of a herd of over 50 sculptures soon to be released across the city of Norwich and the wider county of Norfolk from Monday 23 June for the Summer.
We have a fantastic reward to offer on the GoGo Trails app for the duration of the trail to support Break as our Charity of the Month for June, so keep an eye out for more information on this as the trail begins!
Peter Lambert, Business Development & Marketing Manager, said, “We’re so pleased to be involved in the GoGoSafari trail this summer, supporting Break and the incredible work they do for young people in our region. The creativity and care that Rebecca Amphlett has poured into the design is extraordinary, and it’s been a real privilege to see Unity come to life. We hope everyone enjoys discovering the sculpture as much as we’ve enjoyed supporting its journey.”
Unity is the fifth sculpture Rebecca has created for the GoGo Trails, having created Arcadia and Breakasauras for GoGo Discover in 2022, and Savannah and Kaleidoscope for Standing Tall in 2024. Unity depicts the Earth with its diverse landscapes and a variety of cultures. It allows us to think about the Earth's need for unity, from microbes to ecosystems, they are all playing a crucial role in maintaining balance. Embracing unity among humanity is essential for addressing global challenges like climate change and resource scarcity. When we act together with a shared sense of responsibility, we can foster collaboration and innovation, ensuring a healthier planet for future generations.
With over 600 hours clocked bringing this creation to life, Rebecca used a combination of glass, mirrored surfaces, and pottery, along with other interesting found items to create Unity.
Rebecca shared, “Taking part in GoGoSafari has been a really exciting and rewarding experience for me. I have a lot of time for Break as a charity. The work they do has a real impact on young people's lives. This is the third trail I have decorated for, Unity for Gogo Safari will be my fifth Sculpture in total across the three trails. They are such a fantastic initiative that brings art to the community in a fun and engaging way, and I feel really proud to be a part of it and grateful to Leathes Prior, my sponsor this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing the trail come to life.”
The trail starts on Monday 23 June to Saturday 30 August across the city of Norwich, do visit Unity and the other sculptures over the Summer and explore these incredible pieces of art on display to enjoy. Learn more about the GoGoSafari here.
