Leathes Prior are proud to be supporting Pathmakers as our Charity of the Month for April 2024. Pathmakers fantastic initiatives in the local community resonate with our commitment to our community, environment, and the welfare of those in our community, aligning perfectly with our core values.
The Norfolk countryside really is a special place, and for those of us lucky enough to have access to it, being surrounded by nature can really do so much for your mental and physical wellbeing. However, what is often taken for granted is the ability to be able to enjoy it. And this is where Pathmakers work comes in. They are a charity dedicated to improving access to the Norfolk countryside for people of all abilities and backgrounds. They work with organisations and communities to help run, facilitate, and support walking projects, not just financially but in many other ways too, that improve countryside access – something we at LP feel passionately about supporting.
The team behind Pathmakers are a group of people who regularly enjoy the Norfolk Countryside and are striving to make it accessible to all, allowing everyone to connect with nature. In 2022, Pathmakers launched their first month-long walking festival ‘WalkNorfolk’ which is one of the most diverse and innovative walking festivals in the country. Throughout the month of October, the charity partners with organisations throughout Norfolk including Norfolk Wildlife Trust, RSPB, and nansa to name a few, to create an exciting line up of guided walks. The walks are set across the county for individuals of all abilities to enjoy, taking you to parts of Norfolk you may be yet to explore, and see natural wonders, history and heritage. What’s not to love? The festival is back for a third year this October, find out how you can take part in the WalkNorfolk festival here.
To support the work Pathmakers do, Leathes Prior are taking part in a guided circular walk at Holkham this month to learn more about the charity and raise funds for the work they do. If you would like to work with Pathmakers, get in touch with the charity via info@pathmakers.org.uk.
