IT Assistant


We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing IT team as an IT Assistant. Previous experience in a 1st Line IT Support role would be advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.

You will play a crucial role in assisting in the IT Team with all 1st Line Support queries as well as setting up and maintaining hardware. Supporting the IT team, the role holder will have the opportunity to be involved in ongoing projects, documentation, and IT policies as well as ensuring internal policies are upheld throughout the firm. The role holder will also help to shape the ever-changing IT offering to the firm and be a part of continuous improvement initiatives.

The candidate and post

We are looking for someone who will provide 1st Line Support to the firm, ensuring issues are resolved promptly to enable the firm to operate effectively and as efficiently as possible.  

The main duties of the position include:

  • Setting up and maintaining hardware, including laptops, mobile phones, and  printers
  • Provide 1st line support promptly for queries face to face, by email, and by telephone
  • Manage the starters, leavers, and changes process with regards to IT set up, Case Management set up and testing, software, and hardware
  • Support the wider IT team with ongoing projects such as the development of new software, hardware, patching, cyber security, and systems changes
  • Support with the compliance of IT documentation and policies, as well as ensuring internal processes are always upheld
  • Support colleagues with any AV setups in our meeting rooms
  • Support the wider Support Team and Management Team with firm-wide initiatives such as Trainee Assessment Day, Vacation Scheme, and Inductions
  • Support with liaising with external suppliers when troubleshooting
  • Provide support for any other additional tasks dependent on business needs

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of IT and computer-based systems including Microsoft Windows, Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
