Take Our Trainee Test

If you fancy following in the footsteps of our featured trainees, test yourself here to see if you have what it takes to be a Leathes Prior trainee (and don't worry, you don't have to log in, so we won't know whether you got the answers right!)

Giraffe

Q.  How do you get a giraffe into a refrigerator?

A.  You open the door, put the giraffe in the refrigerator, and close the door.  This question tests whether you overcomplicate matters.

Q.  How do you put an elephant into the refrigerator?

A.  Open the door, take the giraffe out, put the elephant in, shut the door.  (This question tests your ability to spot and remember all relevant facts).

Q.  The Lion King, king of all the animals, calls a meeting in the jungle at which all the animals must attend.  All do, save for one. Which one?

A.  The elephant does not attend – it is stuck in the refrigerator.  (Again, this question tests your ability to spot and remember all the relevant facts).

Q.  You decide to attend the Lion King’s meeting.  To get there you have to cross a river which you could comfortably wade across, but it has the reputation of being full of man-eating (or woman-eating – no sex discrimination here!) crocodiles.  What do you do?

A.  You just wade across.  Remember, the crocodiles are all at the Lion King’s meeting, as only the elephant did not go. (This question again tests your ability to stop and remember all relevant facts).

Q.  Do these questions really tell you anything about your suitability to be a trainee at Leathes Prior?

A.  No, not really.  We just thought they were a bit of fun.  And none of us got them right!  We are looking for certain qualities, and if you have them you will already know what they are.  To find out when and how to apply, click here
