Martin Plowman

Martin graduated from Cambridge University and trained with a City of London firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 1987 when he joined Leathes Prior.

Martin specialises in Dispute Resolution, either through the courts or by negotiation or mediation - whatever is likely to prove the most cost effective way of achieving a client's objectives. He is an experienced advocate in both the County Court and the Employment Tribunal.

Martin is also a CEDR registered Mediator and the founder of Leathes Prior's mediation arm, mediation-1st ("the most prominent mediation practice in the region" [Legal 500 2011]).  He has successfully mediated a wide range of disputes, from local building disputes in Norwich to multi-national commercial disputes in London.

His work as a Mediator and the insight it gives him into the dynamics and tactics of negotiation can give clients a key edge in achieving their goals.

Martin is acknowledged as the "Best Mediator in East Anglia" by the Legal 500 2010 publication, which also recognises him as a Legal Expert in Commercial Dispute Resolution and notes that he “is praised for his clarity and excellent communication skills”.

Martin is responsible for the recruitment of trainee solicitors and is fluent in German.
