LEATHES PRIOR PUB CHALLENGE 2008

Last week saw the 2nd Annual Leathes Prior Pub Challenge. The networking event which is a cross between a Pub Quiz and Pub Crawl was a huge success with 23 local businesses taking part in the event.

Teams of four were guided by a Leathes Prior lawyer for the evening. Players took flight across Norwich City Centre armed with only a pack of clues to guide them to the 8 pubs. Extra points could be gained by submitting their answers early or by completing a number of challenges en route. One that proved particularly popular was producing a team song at the Sing Sing Karaoke bar! Click here to see photos of the team in action.

The event proved extremely popular with the teams who had to make their way back to HQ by 9.15 for a prize giving. Competition was very fierce this year, and ultimately the overall first place went to the drinkers from Royal Bank of Scotland who also won the “Best Bankers” category. The “Best Accountants” were McTear, Williams and Wood and the curious prize of “Best Others” went to the Evening News team.

"Donald Stuart, Bank of Scotland Area Director, collected the trophy on behalf of the winning team. He commented "The Leathes Prior Pub Challenge has become one of the most enjoyable corporate events on the professional calendar; it is great to see so many professionals together in an informal environment."

Victoria Lake, Marketing Executive of Leathes Prior said “The aim of the event is to get together the business community in a setting that they would not otherwise meet in, and of course, to ensure everyone has a really good night. This was again made possible as a result of the large selection of good spirited participants. We had to turn away a number of teams this year, and we expect that there will be keen competition for places in the 2009 Challenge.” Dan Chapman, a Partner of Leathes Prior and organizer of the event together with Victoria Lake and Adam McCaw (an Associate of the firm), announced that “the hard work my team put in preparing for the Pub Challenge was well worth it, and demonstrates Leathes Prior’s commitment to ensuring that our clients and work providers are well looked after not just in a professional capacity, but in a social one too.”
