Norwich and Norfolk Voluntary Services launched the first ever Norfolk network for Chief Officers of Voluntary and Community organisations
Sponsored by Leathes Prior the event featured a debate on the subject 'voluntary organisations are no different from businesses' led by Robert Ashton the local author and promoter of enterepreurship amd Nicky Stevenson from The Guild, specialists on the social economy.
Dan Chapman from Leathes Prior said’ we were pleased to sponsor an event which benefited local voluntary organisations and marks the start of an important network. We work closely with NVS and act as one of their registered providers offering discounted legal support to their members’.
The Chief Officer of NVS Brian Horner supported this by saying ‘ this is an important time for voluntary organisations who face the challenge of Government’s move for them to undertake delivery of more public services.
The debate highlighted many organisations feelings that they are now more like businesses and recognising their need to network and discuss their future. Businesses have access to good existing networks and it is timely that parallel opportunities are provided to voluntary organisations.’
