Thetford Employer Wins Whistleblowing Tribunal
Click Clack Europe Ltd, based in Thetford, yesterday succeeded in defending an Employment Tribunal claim brought against them by their former General Manager Jane Fairbridge.
Ms Fairbridge had claimed that she was unfairly dismissed as a result of “whistleblowing allegations” but after a 3 day Hearing the Tribunal in Norwich ruled that Ms Fairbridge was fairly dismissed for numerous acts of misconduct and that any reasonable employer would have dismissed her in the circumstances. Ms Fairbridge was also ordered to pay £10,000 costs.
Dan Chapman, a Partner at Leathes Prior Solicitors in Norwich who represented Click Clack Europe Ltd throughout the Tribunal Hearing, said that he was “delighted with the outcome, which follows a year’s hard work for all concerned and will now allow Click Clack to concentrate on expanding their business and moving to their new premises in East Harling.”
John Heng, Managing Director of Click Clack Europe Ltd, said that he was overjoyed with the outcome and that he thanked Dan Chapman and his team for the “tremendous effort they put into this case; at no stage did we at Click Clack have any loss of faith in Dan’s advice and strategy throughout”.
Click Clack Europe Ltd are part of the New-Zealand based Click Clack Group who design and manufacture innovative products within the airtight storage and cleaning goods categories which they export to more than 50 countries worldwide.
