County Court action can be an expensive method of collecting a debt – especially if solicitors or debt collection agencies are used.
Most claims for less than £5,000 are likely to be allocated to the Small Claims Track of the County Court where there is no substantial dispute as to fact where complex legal issues are not involved. As a rule legal costs will not be recoverable (except limited costs which are fixed by the Court).
