Jonathan graduated in Law at the University of Oxford, and trained with a City of London firm before practising in London and Australia. He qualified as a solicitor in 1980 in the UK, and in New South Wales Australia in 1983 and joined Leathes Prior in 1986.
Jonathan is the head of the Commercial Department and as well as commercial contracts and business structures, specialises in all aspects of intellectual property work, including in particular franchising, licensing (copyright, patents and the exploitation of new inventions), telecommunications, e-commerce and media law as well as distribution law with emphasis on international law. The Chambers Legal Directory rated Jonathan and Leathes Prior as 'Leaders' in Franchising.
He is a Notary Public and a member of the European Solicitor's Group.
