Tim Cary
Tim graduated in Law at Queen Mary College, London, qualifying as a solicitor in 1978 and joining Leathes Prior in 1983. He was appointed a part-time Immigration Judge in 1997 sitting in London.
Tim is Head of the firm's Business Regulation and Defence department and also heads Traffic Lawyers, a dedicated team of lawyers dealing with traffic and motoring cases on behalf of clients throughout the United Kingdom. He also represents clients on Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Planning, Business and Regulatory prosecutions before the Magistrates and Crown Courts as well as general criminal work. He also deals with both civil and criminal Restraint and Confiscation under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
The Department also deals with Licensing including Alcohol, Entertainment, Lotteries, Gambling, Goods and Passenger Vehicles, Taxi and Private Hire and Food Premises. Tim led the team which successfully obtained some of the first 24 hour licenses under the Licensing Act 2003 in East Anglia and was also heavily involved in licensing gaming establishments after the introduction of the Gambling Act 2005 and is a member of the Proceeds of Crime Lawyers' Association.
Tim is also the holder of a PCV Category D1 (minibus) Licence.
